Jerusha Bumpus 1827 Historical Reproduction Sampler

 It was wonderful
to create this from a sampler my 5th great grandmother actually stitched.I do not know how old she was when she started it but she was 81 when she finished it passing away 7 tears later.
It was difficult not to correct her errors and in some spots she stitched over one instead of two threads and the software would not accommodate that. The photo was fuzzy but the chart is as historically correct as humanly possible.I have three big pieces for special order to stitch so I won't be doing my own for awhile

Cora Aber Sampler CupboardTuck Cora Aber was born in 1869 in Mc Donough County Illinois. She lived on the open prairie until she was 20 years old when she traveled by covered wagon to Indian Territory , Oklahoma. She met and married Henry McLish a half blood Chicasaw Indian.After having 5 children and several grandchildren she passed away in Oklahoma in 1921.This sampler is a tribute to her and is stitched as authentically as I could including the not so perfect border on the right hand side- much as a 10 year old would have stitched it. 1848 Sarah Dow Sampler

had a lot of fun designing and stitching this tribute sampler to my great great gandmother Sarah Ellen Jones Dow. She was born in 1838 in Kentucky.
The sampler is not a complete alphabet to represent more accurately how a 10 year old would have made a sampler. There are a few motifs- including the ever popular bird motif!
It is stitched with dark gray, rusty brown and, dark teal blue threads.
The model was stitched on 14 count Aida but can easily be stitched on Osnaburg or linen. Approx. design size on 14 count fabric 4 1/2" wide x 6" high.
